Ingredients
- 200 g (7/8 cup) (1 3/4 sticks) butter
- 225 g (1 1/4 cup) sugar
- 225 g (1 1/4 cup) dark brown sugar
- 2 (115 g) eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 375 g (3 cups) all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 300 g (1 3/4 cups) chocolate chips
- 175 g (1 1/8 cup) walnuts, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 °F.
- Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugars together until fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract, and beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda, then stir into butter mixture until just combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and nuts and stir to incorporate well.
- Scoop 1-tbs portions onto the cookie sheets, placed about 1 inch apart.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until they begin to turn light brown at edges but still look raw in the middle.
- Cool on the pan 1 minute, then slide off cookie sheet onto a wire rack.
