Confectioners' Icing

Simple confectioners' icing is good to dip donuts or pour over cakes or cookies. Include the butter for a more plastic icing that is easier to dip, or omit it for one that sets up hard. Use the larger amount of milk for an icing that will be poured.

Ingredients

  • 200 g (2 cups) confectioners' sugar
  • 25 g (2 tbs) butter (optional)
  • 30 g (2 tbs) - 50 g (3 tbs) milk
  • 1 g (1/4 tsp) vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Stir together all ingredients. Beat until smooth.
  2. Correct thickness by adding more sugar or milk if needed.

Warm icing slightly over hot water to increase fluidity. Dip pastries into icing and let dry.
