Boiled cider has been reduced to about 1/5 its original volume, yielding a syrup. This is an ingredient in cooking or used like maple syrup. It also may be reconsituted, allowing it to function as a preservation method for cider

Steps
- Put cider in a wide pan.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to keep just at a boil.
- Boil until cider reduces to about 1/6 its original volume and measures 219 °F.
- Remove from heat and filter through a coffee filter or paper towel.
- Transfer to canning jars and seal.
