Use this in place of the top crust on a pie. The filling must be precooked before pouring into the shell.
Ingredients
For Crust for one pie
- 115 g (3/4 cup) flour
- 155 g (3/4 cup) sugar
- 2.5 g (1/4 tsp) salt
- 2 g (1/2 tsp) ground cinnamon
- 80 g (6 tbs) butter
Steps
- Stir together the dry ingredients.
- Work in the butter until the mixture forms crumbs with pea-sized pieces.
- Fill pie with pre-cooked filling, and sprinkle crumbs evenly on top.
- Bake at 425 °F 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 °F and continue to bake until crust browns, approximately 25 minutes.
