- 2 cups (2 parts) water
- 8 oz (1 part) tamarind pulp
- Bring water to a boil, and pour over the tamarind pulp.
- Stir well, breaking up the pulp so it can absorb the water. Let rest to hydrate, about 15 minutes.
- Strain out the seeds and skins, pressing well to extract as much of the liquid component as possible.
